Timeline

Ahmad’s artwork has been exhibited throughout the United States and internationally. Her work has appeared abroad at the Sharjah Art Museum in the United Arab Emirates; 1x1 Art Gallery in Dubai; the Koel Gallery in Karachi and Rohtas 2 Gallery in Lahore, Pakistan. Within the U.S, Ahmad’s work has featured at: the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art; the LuminArte Gallery, the Irving Center of Arts, and the Eisenman Center in Dallas; The Gallery at Watershed in Eugene, Oregon; the Tennessee Arts Commission Gallery in Nashville; the Art Design Consultants Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio; the Yeiser Arts Center in Paducah, Kentucky; and at the Linda Ross Gallery, the Circuitous Succession Gallery, Crosstown Arts, the Hyde Gallery, and Rust Hall—all in Memphis; and the Gilcrease Museum, and the University of Tulsa’s Alexandre Hogue Gallery—both in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Ahmad has given myriad artists talks, for example at Crowe Museum of Asian art in Dallas, and has appeared as a guest on Tulsa Public Radio’s Studio One. Ahmad has been selected for public art projects for the Nashville International Airport, the Regional One Hospital in Memphis, as well as in the forthcoming Greenwood Art Project in Tulsa. Ahmad was a finalist for the Art Comes Alive Award, received the New York Center for Photographic Art Juror’s Award, a fellowship from the Vermont Studio Center and was selected for residencies at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, the Paducah Arts Alliance, and the Otis College of Art and Design. She was awarded the Tulsa Artist Fellowship in 2019 and again in 2020; the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition Grant in 2019; and the Oklahoma Visual Arts Fellowship in 2020.

Ahmad holds an MFA from the Memphis College of Art; an MA in Education from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee; and a BA in Fine Arts from the National College of Arts, Lahore, Pakistan.
