An arc of violet at the lower edge of the picture plane leads the eye to a coil of periwinkle that joins in a gentle eddy of brushed taches, scratches and areas of brown, black, gold, grey and cerulean blue in this two feet square painting. Pattinson's title Kairoi is Greek meaning 'the times" suggesting both a moment in time and the general zeigeist. Pattinson studied architecture and urban design at Oxford University and the University of Toronto. Both disciplines inform his dynamic, structural abstract painting.
