Stephen King is a contemporary Chinese photographer whose painterly images explore the drama and serenity of the natural world. Treating the entire globe as his subject matter, his travels have led him to aerial shoots above Iceland, the deserts of Namibia, and the lava fields of Hawaii. “I believe that beauty can be found everywhere and I seek to portray those magical moments when composition, light, motion, color, and gesture come together,” the artist said. Born in 1958, King graduated from Harvard University in 1988 before pursuing a career in private equity, hedge fund investing, and photography. Since 2015, the artist has participated in exhibitions at Alisan Fine Arts in Hong Kong as well as Art Basel. Currently based in Hong Kong, King manages his own hedge fund while continuing his artistic practice.
