Biography
Stephen Scott Young is an American painter best known for his watercolors and etchings of daily life in the Bahamas. His work has at times been compared with the paintings of Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth, and Thomas Eakins. Born in 1957 in Honolulu, HI, after graduating from high school, Young spent three years studying printmaking at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, FL. He made his first visit to the Bahamas in the early 1980s, where he was impressed by the bright light and unique culture of the islands. Young currently lives and works in Jupiter, FL.
