Tai-Shan Schierenberg

Tai-Shan Schierenberg is a British artist born in England in 1962 who has made a name for himself as a painter of portraits and figurative works. He studied at the Chelsea School of Art and went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts from the Slade School of Fine Art in London.

Schierenberg has exhibited his artwork extensively in galleries in the United Kingdom and around the world, including the National Portrait Gallery in London. He won the National Portrait Gallery's prestigious John Player Portrait Award in 1989 and is a member of the Royal Academy of Arts.

Schierenberg's work displays a bold, expressive style that combines traditional techniques with contemporary practices. His use of color is particularly noteworthy, and his paintings often feature bright, saturated hues that evoke a sense of joy and vitality. One of his most famous paintings, Blue Balthasar, sold for an impressive $44,812 at auction, setting a record for the artist.
