Description
The first image ever sent over the worldwide web, by Ray Tomlinson in 1992, was a picture of a parody music quartet of ‘glamorous’ women who worked for the European Organization for Nuclear Research, CERN. The work shows a doctored photograph of the original image simulating the degradation of the coloured image as it was sent through cyberspace at that time, and the image overlayed with its Base64 that was actually sent.
Base64 is the medium by which a visual is often sent through the internet.
