Damper brings together the micro and macro: life-size leopard print fur sandwiched between a gathering cumulous weather system and a pair of miniature shower stalls. Like much of this series, the shifts in genre and scale hinge on tactile and textural contrasts, in this case the dry warm fur acts as the buffer or damper between exterior and interior, wet and dry, nature and culture, the world and the body.
