Vu Duc Trung

Vu Duc Trung is a contemporary Vietnamese painter whose works recall the landscapes of the Impressionists. Using the traditional method of lacquer painting, Trung layers shades over each other to produce a shimmering surface. Born in 1981 in Hanoi, Vietnam, he went on to study at Hanoi Industrial Arts University, the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris and the Hanoi Academy of Fine Arts for an MFA. The artist lives and works in his hometown of Hanoi, Vietnam.
