Description
Together We are a Sea, a Murmuring Wave of Sound and a Hive Soul is an interactive art-studio-like installation in
which visitors are invited to create and contribute to a collaborative textile artwork. To the right of the installation is a
video depicting sedated waves of warm nuances. To the left is a solitary work station providing various fabrics, threads,
paints, and utensils. Through digital instructions displayed at the entrance, Wang Xin, and her artificially intelligent
counterpart WX, encourages the viewer to “unlock their inner creativity” through meditation. Overturning the
conventional roles of human and machine, the installation hints at the eerily growing humanness of artificial intelligence
while crafting a comment on the widening spiritual detachment of humans living in the technological era.
