Description
ABOUT THE WORK
This painting depicts designs associated with the rock hole site of “Marrawa” and the surrounding intermittent swamp, to the west of Lake MacKay (Wilkinkarra) approximately 120km north north-east Kiwirrkura. Walimpirrnga was part of a family group of eighteen individuals whose first contact with white Australia accused in October 1984.
Please noted that all Aboriginal Art is created from a so called ‘Birds Eye’ view. This means that the paintings can be hung either horizontally as well as vertically.
SmithDavidson Gallery represents a wide range of Australian Aboriginal Art, please contact for additional information.
