The panel is made of a single board, and is uncradled, planar, and beveled on all four edges. The painting is in overall good condition and has not been recently restored. The image reads well and details are well-preserved beneath an old, yellowed varnish. The surface is slightly dirty, and there is a pin-prick of loss in the female figure's lower costume and in the column at upper left. Some faint cracks to the paint surface are visible, but not distracting to the composition. Inspection under UV reveals a slightly milky varnish, beneath which only minimal recent spots of retouching fluoresce. There is a small area of restoration to the red cloth of the table at right. The painting can certainly hang as is, but may benefit from a clean and new varnish. Offered in a darkwood frame.
