Yigal Ozeri

(Israeli, born 1958)

Yigal Ozeri is a contemporary Israeli painter known for his photorealistic renderings of young women amidst natural settings, such as rainforests and deserts. Ozeri takes his own digital photographs, later editing them in Photoshop and printing them out to use as reference material for his highly detailed oil paintings. His work tends to have a subtle tone of allegory and fantasy, while simultaneously being incredibly realistic and almost indistinguishable from a photograph. Ozeri was born in Israel in 1958, and is most notably included in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and the Albertina Museum in Vienna. He lives and works in New York, NY.
