Alexandre Gallery is pleased to present American Masterworks from the Merrill C. Berman Collection. Discerningly assembled by New York collector Merrill C. Berman over more than two decades, this selection includes important, iconic paintings by artists of African descent such as John Biggers (1924 - 2001), William H. Johnson (1901 - 1970), Jacob Lawrence (1917 - 2000), and Horace Pippin (1888 - 1946), and forms part of a broader American social realist collection put together by Berman during this same period.
