Resident artist at Luwan District Cultural Palace Shanghai, China
1979
Founded the Grass Painting Society (Cao Cao Hua She), a group of twelve artists dedicated to the promotion of artistic originality
1982
Discovered the “cracks” in adversity and henceforth affirmed “fissuring” as his artistic language and philosophic basis
1985 - 1986
Artist in residence at Tufts University, creating a monumental mural in the new building of its campus center
1988
Lectured at John King Fairbank Center Harvard University, Cambridge, MA
