Born: in Greenwich, New York
1940
Graduated from Brookyln High School with major in Chemistry and worked in the research labs at Interchemical Corporation
1942 - 1946
Volunteered in the U.S Army Air Forces during World War II
1946 - 1950
Studied sculpture at Cooper Union and graduated with honors
1950
Was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship for study in Greece and continued studying stone carving at the Polytechnion in Athens, Greece
1954
Won third prize in the Deruta International Ceramics Competition at Perugia, Italy
1957
Received a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship and was invited to participated in the international Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition in Middleheim Park, Antwerp, Belgium
1983
Was elected a fellow of the American Acadamy of Arts and letters, New York
1989
Received a tenured position at Harvard University and participated in various academic activities, lectures, concerts, film showings, and student productions
2006
Died: in Boston, Massachusetts
