Opening on the 21st of January 2023, a new exhibition at Kanaal’s Patio Gallery will focus on Girke’s work from the second half of the 1980s and 1990s.
Between 1986 and 1999, as the new monograph Raimund Girke. Between White shows, Girke worked with gestural movements and brushstrokes related to the proportions of the body. At the same time, the many retrospectives also made the artist look back at his own work, and he participated in several important group exhibitions such as at the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin, in 1985, Musée d’Art Contemporain, Lyon, 1988, and the Venice Biennale in 1990.
