Born in Highland Park, IL.
1951
Graduated from Goucher College with a degree in Political Science.
1953
Married and moved to Chattanooga, TN.
1961
Became the Regional Director of The Experiment in International Living, coordinating host families throughout the Southeast.
1968
Was sent to Tokyo through The Experiment in International Living, where she discovered photography.
1974
Met Lisette Model and studied with her intermittently on trips to New York City.
1979
Awarded Guggenheim Fellowship.
1984
Moved to lower Manhattan where she built her darkroom and studio.
1989
Awarded National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.
