DC Moore Gallery will present rare, large scale paintings by Jane Wilson (1924-2015) from the 1980s and 90s that have not been exhibited for 30 years. Wilson was a presence in the New York art world from 1952-2015. When few female artists were able to break through the years of abstract expressionism, Wilson was a steady presence. In the early 80s, she made a move to personal and expressive landscape painting, creating the works which she is well known for. Her luminous paintings hover between abstraction and representation and focus on the seasons, times of day, and moods of the weather.
