Dean Borghi Fine Art is pleased to present artists Tom Dash and SIRO in an exhibition from May 5th, 2016 to June 9th, 2016. The exhibition will take place at the gallery’s new location at 529 West 20th Street, 4th floor in Chelsea, New York.
Tom Dash: has always had a passion for art and his work reflects contemporary themes working with pop iconography, mainly in post production painting, photography, sculpture, murals and installation. He was influenced by the many years he spent as a lead assistant and fabricator for Richard Prince (2005 until 2011). From 1998 on, Dash has had numerous solo and group shows; being represented by other galleries as well as the one he created, the Dos Mil Gallery, in Portland, Oregon. He was also affiliated with Portland Institute for Contemporary Art. In
2003, he was invited to be part of a group show at the Art Center in Pasadena, California. While in high school, Dash was accepted to summer art programs at the Rhode Island School of Design and subsequently took classes at the Museum School for Fine Arts, Boston. With significant life experience added to his formal training, he uses a variety of techniques to comment on societal issues, music and popular cultural themes.
SIRO: studied Fine Arts in Italy, then spent some years in France and is now based in Sardinia. For the past two years, he spent researching his own personal artistic style. Through his artistic development, SIRO creates an original and yet powerful “style”. SIRO’s works are characterized by figures that no longer correspond to a figurative sense, rejecting the traditional narrative of painting; creating an autonomous and unknown personal language. In his paintings there is an understanding of the deeper character of reality, the life of nature, decomposition and the alchemical transformation of elements: reflection on the human being and time. The works reveal an imaginary place in real space, pushing the boundaries between figurative and abstract images.
