Following the success of last year’s presentation of works by renowned surrealist painter Roberto Matta we look forward to featuring again one of his beautiful insight landscapes next to the fantastic frottage and grattage work Les Jeunes et les jeux twistent by his artistic companion Max Ernst. Paintings by the French surrealist André Masson as well as Art Brut inventor Jean Dubuffet will also be presented at our booth.

Moreover, Louise Nevelson, the grande dame of New York’s postwar art scene, will be on display; at our booth, her elegant, matte, monochromatic wooden reliefs are set in fascinating contrast to the bright colors not only of Alain Clément but also Jan Voss, a German artist who has been living in Paris since 1962 and who is famous for his beautiful humorous paintings and glowing collages.

Berlin based artists Johannes Heisig and Volker Stelzmann will round off our section of contemporary painters. In terms of sculpture, this year DIE GALERIE sets its focus on the German artist Dietrich Klinge. Not only are we going to showcase a large number of his archaic bronze heads, hands and figurines but also we are going to ship over to Miami a large scale sculpture, carved from a wooden trunk, cast in bronze and patinated beautifully.

For the very first time, we will also present the Italian sculptor Aron Demetz and his impressive human figures; sometimes dark, sometimes melancholic but always with an unavoidable intense presence.
