DIE GALERIE will present at ART PARIS 2018 a magnificent survey of its gallery program, with the main focus on Modern Art, the CoBrA group and a selection of figurative painting and sculpture. Next to highlights of Modern Masters like André Masson (1881-1976) and Max Ernst (1891-1976) this year’s edition is also dedicated to the German/French contemporary artist Jan Voss (*1936) an his colorful abstract compositions as well as to Johannes Heisig’s (*1953) expressive landscapes and portraits. The sculptor Dietrich Klinge (*1954) is present with heads and head-high sculptures made out of bronze.  Another contemporary artist from DIE GALERIE’S portfolio is the internationally renowned French painter and sculptor Alain Clément (*1941). He strives to merge color and light into a single, indissoluble unity in his paintings, the subtle transparency and brilliance of which are both charismatic and captivating. To achieve a harmonization of forms in his work, Clément employs both strict, geometrical elements as well as broad, curved bands of color that seem to glide across the pictorial surface. Despite the brief period of its existence (1948-1951), the artist group CoBrA is seen as one of the major catalysts in the development of European art after 1945. The pool of artists, sculptors and poets and their concepts of art and society are still viewed today as the dawning of a new era. At ART PARIS two members of the CoBrA group Lucebert (1924-1994) and Carl-Henning Pedersen (1913-2007) will be on display amongst others.
