“Before the world is changed it would perhaps be more appropriate not to destroy it” - Paul Claudel

Donna Leatherman LLC is pleased to re-introduce the Columbus Portfolio. Master artists in 1992 created 35 prints (screenprints, screenprint and collotype and also collage), and one small sculpture, highlighting the need to recognize and save the endangered rainforest in the Americas. This exceptional project was shown at Documenta IX with King Juan Carlos of Spain as patron.

Almost twenty five years later, Columbus: In Search of a New Tomorrow is a portfolio that is endearing and enduring, as is our world that needs to be respected and and preserved.

------------------------------

The idea of “COLUMBUS” was born with this sentence in mind. We felt the astonishingly positive resonance which our plan attracted from the very beginning to be a challenge to make this art edition something very special. And so we succeeded in involving artists from the endangered rainforest areas in the project and, for the first time, in bringing together fine art, photography, literature, drama and music in one work
