ROBERT GORDY FEATURED AT HOLIDAY EXHIBIT

Paintings and prints by the late Robert Gordy will be featured at the Holiday Exhibit at Aldridge-Leatherman, llc., Galerie des Arts.
A compulsive artist throughout his life, Gordy was born in 1933 in Jefferson Island, Louisiana and died in 1986 in New Orleans. He received his masters and bachelor degrees from Louisiana State University. After studying with Hans Hoffman in 1953,
Gordy produced a series of paintings in a more abstracted view than the style for which he became known. One of this group Untitled Still Life is shown.
Gordy’s work is included in major American collections including the Whitney
Museum, the Metropolitan Museum, and The Museum of Modern Art in New York
as well as The Dallas Museum and The New Orleans Museum of Art.
Aldridge-Leatherman, Galerie des Arts is located at 320 Exchange Place in the heart of the French Quarter a half block off Royal Street in New Orleans. The galerie is open
