Santiago Medina is a Colombian-American sculptor whose international success spans over thirty years. Medina has pioneered the use of advanced 3D imaging technology—the same used in CT and MRI scans—to create dynamic and sophisticated forms in Italian stainless steel. His work exemplifies sensitivity to material and movement, elevating durable mediums into transcendent, abstract shapes that speak to our human connection to the universe. Medina has also developed means of achieving color in his works by using resin as well as aerospace paint to create lustrous and vibrant finishes, a technique only mastered by a select few including contemporary titans, Jeff Koons and Donald Judd.

Medina’s monumental public works are on permanent display at numerous national and international venues. Prestigious locations include Harvard University, Stanford University, Tufts University, Florida International University, Nutibara Sculpture Park, Miami Children’s Hospital, and CES University in Medellin, Colombia.

In 2016, Medina’s solo exhibition “Acero en Movimiento” (Interactive Steel) traveled to various historic sites including Pinecrest Gardens in Pinecrest, Florida and Club Campestre in Medellin, Colombia.

In 2019, Medina was appointed by the Colombian State Department to become an Art Ambassador of Colombia. This appointment is accompanied by an international exhibition entitled “Aceros Al Infinito” (Steel Into Infinity) which will tour embassies around the world including Washington, D.C., London, Paris, and Rome.
