In her collages, the artist not only stages, but also vehemently observes and comments on human life and behavior patterns through her pictorial personnel. The path to the goal leads through the role play of her protagonists.

The pictorial world of Christa Filser's artistic works is populated with fantasy figures, comic and fairy-tale characters, who reenact the scenes of the day through their role-playing. The artist's approach in setting on the bizarreness of everyday life is so subtle that one notices the absurd humor only when one has already accepted the fictionality of the representation in itself with reality value. The intensity and presence of an in-between space, an in-between that extends in the field of tension between allusion to reality and fictional being, comes to life in the artist's collages, objects and photographic drafts of ideas.

On closer examination of the artist's works, it becomes apparent that there is a clear difference between what can be seen superficially and materially and what is hidden underneath.
