Fraenkel Gallery is pleased to take part in Art Basel’s Online Viewing Rooms. The gallery presents work by Robert Adams, Diane Arbus, Bernd & Hilla Becher, Adam Fuss, Richard Learoyd, Lee Friedlander, Peter Hujar and others.

Among the highlights are ambitious large-format portraits from Richard Avedon depicting Andy Warhol and members of The Factory, made soon after Avedon began using an eight-by-ten view camera; recent work by Sophie Calle combining photography with embroidered texts; an intimate self-portrait by Nan Goldin; a previously unreleased photograph from Richard Misrach’s Desert Cantos series; and work from Hiroshi Sugimoto’s series Opticks, which depicts the color of light he observed through a prism in his Tokyo studio.
