Held annually since 2009, this year marks the eighth edition of Bazaar Art Jakarta. As an auction house representative, an art collector and a gallerist, with her outstanding dedication and many contributions to the development of the arts in Indonesia, we believe that Vivi Yip will bring a fresh, new approach to Bazaar Art Jakarta. Since its inception eight years ago, Bazaar Art Jakarta has evolved into one of the foremost international art fairs in Southeast Asia, as seen from the increasing number of exhibitors and visitors each year. Last year’s Bazaar Art Jakarta 2015 welcomed 34 prestigious international galleries from 11 countries alongside 21 Indonesian galleries to showcase the best works of local and international artists. The four-day art fair generated sales over US$ 3,200,000. Occupying a 7,500 square meter area at the Ballroom of The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place, Bazaar Art Jakarta has become the main destination for art collectors and enthusiasts in Indonesia and Asia Pacific alike. Strategically located in an upscale shopping mall in the heart of Jakarta’s Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD), the venue attracts the communal and shopping-oriented characteristics of the Indonesian society. Convenient opening times in accordance with the mall’s business hours until 10 PM, allow the art fair to maximize promotions. The venue inside the shopping mall also further increases the public exposure of the arts in line with the idealism of Bazaar Art Jakarta to greater promote public awareness and appreciation of the arts.
