Mit Kill Someone. Arbeiten auf Papier zeigt der amerikanischen Künstler Richard Tuttle seine zweite Einzelausstellung in der Galerie Christian Lethert.

Auf zwei Etagen präsentiert er seine neuen Arbeiten auf Papier – bewusst ungerahmt, um ihre Leichtigkeit zu unterstreichen. Der Titel der Ausstellung lässt jedoch bereits erahnen, dass ihnen zugleich eine gewisse Schwere und Dunkelheit innewohnt. In einer Art Versuchsanordnung präsentiert Richard Tuttle diese neuen Werke, ganz darauf Bedacht ihnen größtmöglichen Raum zu geben. Herb Vogel, ein Freund Richard Tuttles formulierte einst treffend: "Richard has too many ideas for one work, so he has to spread them out."

Gegen 19 Uhr stellt Richard Tuttle sein neues Buch persönlich vor: Richard Tuttle. A Fair Sampling – Collected Writings 1965-2018,Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther König. 

Richard Tuttle, 1941 in Rahawy, New Jersey, USA geboren, lebt in New York, New Mexico und Maine. Sein Studium am Trinity College, Hartford, schloss er 1963 ab und eröffnete 1965 seine erste Einzelausstellung in der Betty Parson Gallery in New York. Seine Werke werden seitdem weltweit in zahlreichen Museen und Galerien präsentiert, auch auf der documenta und der Biennale von Venedig war er mehrfach vertreten.

Galerie Christian Lethert is pleased to announce its second solo exhibition by American artist Richard Tuttle.

New works on paper will be shown, unframed, to underline their lightness, and yet reading the title one already senses that they have a certain heaviness and darkness at the same time. Richard Tuttle presents these new works in a kind of experimental setting, with the aim of giving them as much space as possible. Herb Vogel, a friend of Richard Tuttle's, once said aptly: "Richard has too many ideas for one work, so he has to spread them out." 

Around 7 pm Richard Tuttle personally presents his new book A Fair Sampling - Collected Writings 1965-2018, published by Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther König. 

Richard Tuttle, born 1941 in Rahawy, New Jersey, USA, lives in New York, New Mexico and Maine. He received a BA from Trinity College, Hartford and held his first solo show in New York at Betty Parsons Gallery in 1965. Tuttle has exhibited worldwide, and was included in the Venice Biennale and documenta, three times each.
