pour la première fois à Paris Photo
La Galerie Daniel Templon a le plaisir d'annoncer sa participation à la 18ème foire internationale de la photographie,
Paris Photo, qui se déroulera du 13 au 16 novembre 2014 sous la verrière du Grand Palais.
Fondée en 1966, la galerie participe depuis plus de trente ans à de grands événements internationaux tels que la FIAC et Art
Basel, mais c'est la première fois qu'elle participera à Paris-Photo.
La Galerie Templon s'attache depuis longtemps à présenter des photographes. Elle a été la première à exposer Helmut Newton
en 1981. D'autres artistes célèbres ont également montré leurs oeuvres sur les cimaises de la rue Beaubourg : William Eggleston,
Robert Mappelthorpe, Ed Ruscha, Hiroshi Sugimoto ou Jean-Marc Bustamante.
A l'occasion de Paris Photo, le stand de la galerie mettra l'accent sur trois artistes:
- Le duo mondialement connu Pierre et Gilles, qui, après le succès de son exposition sur le thème des héros ce printemps à
Paris, dévoilera un groupe d’oeuvres à deux mains, à la frontière entre peinture et photographie. Pierre et Gilles présenteront
notamment, pour la première fois, un portrait du chanteur Stromae.
- Le photographe américain David LaChapelle, qui surprendra avec sa série LAND SCAPE, réalisée à partir de maquettes et
mettant en scène des paysages industriels, illustrant l’impact d’un mode de vie dépendant des énergies fossiles.
- Le pionnier de la "staged photography" James Casebere, qui, avec ses architectures isolées dans des paysages immobiles,
poursuit son questionnement sur la maison perçue comme symbole d’une utopie de société américaine.
Seront également présents sur le stand des oeuvres de Gregory Crewdson, Hiroshi Sugimoto et Kehinde Wiley.

at Paris Photo for the first time
Galerie Daniel Templon is delighted to announce that it will be taking part in the 18th Paris Photo international
photography fair. The fair is being held from 13 to 16 November 2014 under the glass roof of the Grand Palais in Paris.
Founded in 1966, the gallery has been involved in major international events such as Fiac and Art Basel for over thirty years.
However, this is the first time it will be exhibiting at Paris Photo.
The gallery, renowned for introducing the French public to leading American artists such as Judd, Warhol, Basquiat and Haring,
has always attached great importance to showing the work of photographers. It was the first gallery to exhibit Helmut Newton’s
work in 1981. Other famous artists have also presented their work at the Rue Beaubourg space: William Eggleston, Robert
Mappelthorpe, Ed Ruscha, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Jean-Marc Bustamante.
The gallery’s Paris Photo stand will focus on three artists:
- internationally renowned artistic duo Pierre et Gilles, who will be following up their successful spring exhibition on the theme
of heroes with a series of pieces they have worked on together to create a world where painting and photography meet. A
particular highlight is the first showing of their portrait of singer Stromae;
- American photographer David LaChapelle with his startling Landscape series, based on handcrafted scale models, that
explores the theme of oil refineries and reflects the environmental and ecological concerns that have marked his work over recent
years;
- the pioneer of "staged photography”, James Casebere, whose architectural structures, standing lost and alone in the midst
of unchanging nature, continue his examination of the home as the utopian symbol of American society.
The stand will also feature works by Gregory Crewdson, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Kehinde Wiley.
