Booth C9
For the first time in the United States since 1954, we are honoured to present a unique
selection of paintings by the American painter:
Loïs FREDERICK (Chadron, Nebraska 1930 – Paris 2013).
“Of her native Nebraska, she has retained images of immense plains leading to Rocky
Mountains. Latitude: Rome. Altitude: 2700 feet. Sun, light, whatever the season.
Climate of contrasts...” Michel Faucher
Heiress to Matisse and Rothko whom she met in 1950, her vivid coloured – even
fluorescent from the 1970’s - paintings are a real “hymn to the light”.
Also, we are very pleased to present a selection of very fine works by major Post-War
Abstract Expressionist Artists including Sam Francis, Mark Tobey, Paul Jenkins, Gerard
Schneider and Huguette Arthur Bertrand.
Each creates his very individual form of Abstraction: Paul Jenkins’ fluid veils and poesy of
phenomena are so evocative of wind. Gerard Schneider’s outward projection of the inner self
creates eruptive paintings, straight out of Vulcan’s forge. Huguette Arthur Bertrand
develops very personal gestures, nervous or serene, always the expression of her inner
dynamism. Mark Tobey’s All-Overs, which Pollock admired greatly, form the roots of Abstract
Expressionism.
A very fine faun drawing by Picasso will also be presented at this occasion.
In parallel, we are very pleased to present our Artists’ latest Furniture Creations:
- Gildas Berthelot’s sculpture-side-table as well as LA MER, his sculptural sideboard
created in exclusivity for the fair,
- Jedd Novatt’s JAGG, his sculpture-table,
- Nathaniel Rackowe’s LT03, his kynetic side-table,
- Guy de Rougemont’s historical CLOUD TABLE (one of two such pieces ever made),
- Salome de Fontainieu’s STONEHENGE, her sofa and HOMEFIRE, her lamp.
From November 10, Gallery Diane de Polignac is delighted to present a solo-show by
Salomé de Fontainieu, at HOMER’s Richard Mishaan:
