Art Hong Kong 2012
Booth designed by Zaha Hadid
Wifredo Lam special exhibition
17 – 20 May 2012
Galerie Gmurzynska will return to Art Hong Kong with a booth designed
by legendary architect, Zaha Hadid.
Representing the Estate of Wifredo Lam the gallery presents a highly
important exhibition of the works of the only 20th century classic modern
artist of Chinese origins Wifredo Lam. Published on the occasion will be
a catalogue on the work of Wifredo Lam with texts by the artist and rare
documentary images. The paintings on show—including ceramics and
pastels—offer a retrospective selection, from his Cubist-inspired School
of Paris days to his ’70s canvases.
Other highlights at the booth will include a selection of important works
by Classic 20th Century Masters from the collection of the gallery,
including Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, Robert Indiana, and Fernando
Botero.
ZAHA HADID will be present during the Press and Collector’s Preview
on Wednesday, May 16 at 14:00 at Galerie Gmurzynska’s booth, 1B16,
as well as ESKIL LAM, son of the artist and representative of the Estate
of WIFREDO LAM.
