1926 - 1929: Studies in architecture at the Munich Art College with the Neoclassicist Eduard Pfeiffer, Munich, Germany
1930 - 1932: Apprenticeship as a bricklayer, Munich, Germany
1933 - 1935: Studies in architecture at the National Building School Munich, Germany
1936 - 1940: Work in different architectural offices incl. amongst others Oswald Eduard Bieber
1941 - 1942: Military service on the eastern front in Poland and Russia
1943 - 1944: Assignment as a war artist in the Ukraine and Greece
1949 - 1962: Freelance architect together with his wife Monika Geiger
1949: Co-founder of artist group ZEN 49 (until 1957)
1951: Design of the Munich Main Central Station façade as his first public commission in the field “art in architecture”, Germany
1955: Begins working with oil paints
