Spends several weeks as a tour guide in Egypt

Establishes a Munich studio in Germany in the small manor of Werneckschlôssl.
Meets Rainer Maria Rilke, Ringelnatz and Paul Klee.
Has his first exhibition, at the Tannhâuser Gallery in Munich, Germany.

1924

Visits the Bauhaus in Weimar, Germany.
Meets Kandinsky, Gropius, Feininger

1925 - 1928

Voyages to Italy, Algeria and France

1928

Moves to Paris for 12 years.
Meets Brassaï, Van Velde and Bissière.
Participates in the exhibition “Abstrakte” in Munich and has his first exhibition in Paris.
Meets Jeanne Bucher, who will henceforth assume responsibility for his representation.

1935

Travels in Spain; meets Henry Miller, Lawrence Durrell and Adolf Herbst

Interns as a national in the camps at Gurs, Germany

Becomes a naturalized French citizen

Laureate of the Jongkind Prize, awarded by the Arches paper company
