The Galerie Patrice Trigano continues its series of exhibitions devoted to the major artists of American Photorealism (Richard Estes, Robert Cottingham, John Baeder, Tom Blackwell) with a show of Ron Kleemann works.
Born in 1937 in Bay City, Michigan, Ron Kleemann belongs to the first generation of Photorealist painters who, in line with their Pop Art predecessors, create an objective view of American society. With hindsight, it is manifest that each artist of the movement possesses his own individual way of apprehending and structuring the real to produce an inimitable style.
Similar to Charles Sheeler’s interest in the machinery of locomotives, Kleemann’s predilection for automobiles as subject matter and as American icon functions as a metaphor for a fast-paced modern society. Like Richard Estes, Tom Blackwell, Robert Cottingham and Ralph Goings, Ron Kleemann demonstrates a great technical ability that allows him to achieve a resemblance to the photographs which serve him as model.
The gallery will present works from the « NASCAR » series which incorporate the Photorealist techniques of close-ups, extreme foreshortening, reflections and intense light.
