Galerie Simon Blais has been active in the visual arts sector in Montreal, Canada since 1989. We are considered to be a reference about the work of Post-War Canadian artists, with a focus on Quebec modern abstract painting, representing the estates of major artists such as Jean Paul Riopelle, Marcelle Ferron, Jean McEwen, Rita Letendre, Jacques Hurtubise, Denis Juneau, and others. We also collect and display the works of international modern artists, namely, Joan Mitchell, Zao Wou-Ki, Antoni Tàpies, Sam Francis, David Nash, Joan Miró and Sean Scully.
Initially specialized in works on paper, the gallery today defends both emerging and established artists working in diverse media such as painting, drawing, sculpture, prints and photography. We represent cutting-edge Quebec contemporary artists like Carol Bernier, Jean-Sébastien Denis, Michel Goulet, Louise Robert, and Marc Séguin.
A dynamic space, the gallery is known both within Canada and abroad through its participation in various contemporary art events around the world.
