In the exhibition „Rascheln und Zukunft“ Tanit gallery Munich is showing new works by Martin Assig, born in Schwelm/Westfalen in 1959. They are all part of the „St. Paul“ series, which Assig began in 2009. The large and small format drawings show his multifaceted perceptions and ideas about the circle of life and death, faith and hope. The abundance in motifs, manifold ornamental, organic and architectonical structures show a complex and colorful pictorial world. He uses watercolor, graphite and especially crayon and pastels on paper, which gives a special luminosity to his works. Additional pictorial elements consist of words and sentences, underlining the meaning of each work and giving them the impression of votive images.
