Leonardo da Vinci has already captured turbulences in a drawing. But it is only since a hundred years that scientists have been researching turbulences with the help of chaos theory and new computers. However, no mathematical formula has yet been found for this. The artists Thomas Bayrle, Stefan Löffelhardt and Heino Naujoks don't need any rules, the imagination and the hand create manifold turbulent structures and delight with the freedom that the artists have developed in their different drawings. Bayrle's early graphic works date back to the 1960s, while Löffelhardt and Naujoks have recently produced their works.
