Recent lockdowns have harshly reminded us of the importance of gatherings for the birth, cohesion and survival of friendships. The reopening of our spaces is an opportunity to underline how precious some friendships (Betty Goodwin, John Heward, Fernand Leduc, Marcel Lemyre) have been and remain; "Gathering" celebrates with visitors of the gallery, the notion of getting together. The absence of these friends, and of visitors, created this exhibition. It is a sort of echo chamber for close ties of friendship. I hope it will bear witness to an "ever-living" art whose relevance lasts no matter what.
