In occasion of the glamorous summer in the Promenade du Port in Porto Cervo, at the new venue of Vittoria Design's space, the 7th of August will open the solo show by Karim Rashid with a display of 70 works by the American designer. Karim Rashid is a leading figure in the international art world operating in many fields, from the furniture pieces, fashion, lighting sistem to music and art; Rashid is considered as a star of the new post-modern trend where research and action are translated in fantastic shapes conceved in spacial movement, organic twists to testify a neverending message of freedom, light biomorphy in constant movement. All the pieces presented in this solo show are integral part of the personal path of Karim Rashid in the latest years, contemporary objects in contrast to the classical architecture of Mediterranean landscape; “My work refere to Nature, important partner of our techinologial research; this is what I calle “digital-nature”, mixing colours from the sea and corals, mussels and rocks that inhabit it to digital elements, techinogical fluidity, movement and geometries all playing with illusions; this is my personal translation of natural Beauty in our Cosmo”On display more than 14 companies among the most important in the contemporary design world; from Talenti with the Swell outdoor serie as the Breez bed, the couch Tikal and the tables Kross and Optik; products from Meritalia Spa, couch Matrix, the library Kubo and basculant seat Blobina; lamps Cadmo for Artemide; beautiful ceramics for Bitossi Ceramiche; seats Skipp and Poly, armchair Dragonfly, table Floob, stools Sym and pouff and the armchair Kandor designed for Bonaldo. All in transparent glass the pieces for Tonelli with the coffe table Kat and Dekon 2 and the petineuse Strata; the cupboard Bleind and the horizontal sideboard Tide are made for Horm in laquered wood one in gold and the one in white version. The lamps Bokka and Floob in plexiglass are designed for Kundalini and the Casamania serie include the products Kouch and armchair Ouch; the stool Kant, the vase Zontik and the garbage can Korzina. The nice bed Glow for Hollandia International and the new line of textile for C&C Milano and the beautiful desks Zero and Uno for Della Rovere Spa. For the Edizioni Galleria Colombari Karim Rashid designed pieces in limited edition as the Blobulous chairs and the Kromablobs chair. Digital art is represented by Digital Prints Digilove, Embryos, Osko, Mutablob and the spectacular desk in fiberglass, steel and wood made by Base Srl. An exhibition to be discovered as saidby Rashid himself: “a pleasure in a place where relax, nature and culture speack the same language, memorable moments can combine with design in a very special way. The moment you experience Beauty, confort, luxury and performance, our lives harmonuously elevated themselves accordingly”.
