Hollis Taggart is pleased to announce Remix, a group exhibition featuring paintings by contemporary artists together with historical works from the Hollis Taggart collection in our Southport, CT location (330 Pequot Avenue). The exhibition, curated by Paul Efstathiou, Director of Contemporary Art, highlights each artist’s distinct interpretation of abstraction taking into account the context and timeframe in which each is working. Remix explores possible associations between the works by luminaries of the Post-War movement, Norman Bluhm, Alexander Calder, Sam Gilliam, Michael Goldberg, Michael (Corinne) West and paintings by three contemporary artists, Matt Mignanelli, Margaux Ogden, and Alexandros Vasmoulakis. The exhibition will open on September 19th and will run through October 17th.

"With the success of our first exhibition, Look Again: A Survey of Contemporary Paintings in our Southport, Connecticut location, we are excited to announce, Remix, which continues our commitment to expand our artists’ audience and collector base. Pairing Post-War trailblazers Alexander Calder, Sam Gilliam, Michael Goldberg, and Michael (Corinne) West with contemporaries, Matt Mignanelli, Margaux Ogden, and Alexandros Vasmoulakis, we are encouraging the viewer to examine the works of the past within the context of the present discipline and vice versa," said Hollis Taggart. "We are thrilled about the depth and breadth of the upcoming exhibition curated by Paul Efstathiou, our Director of Contemporary Art, and excited to share it with our Southport community.”
