Born and raised in Reading, Ohio
Studied art at the School of the Art Institute and the Chicago Academy of Fine Art
Made his home in the Chicago area, settling in Oak Park prior to World War I
For many years, Krafft and other artists from the upper Midwest took annual summer painting trips to the Ozarks
