Who is not familiar with the term the “Roaring Twenties” of the last century? And who does not secretly catch themselves seeking parallels to the present time. As today, the world was in a state of upheaval then - unstable world politics, widespread uncertainty and the threat of economic crisis.

Now we are once again at the beginning of such a decade and if someone had then predicted the course of 2020 with the turn of the year - we would have shaken our heads in disbelief.

A hundred years ago the period of hardship after the First World War was followed by several years of excessive lust for life.   Berlin was one of the most exciting metropolises where cultural life pulsated.

A myriad of possibilities and affordable luxury stood opposite rampant poverty, a strong housing shortage and dissatisfaction. The young democracy still stood on very shaky legs.

It remains to be seen what impact the experiences of 2020 will have on the mindset of people today. It can be assumed, however, that after the pandemic is over, the meeting in cafés, clubs or at concerts - the socializing, the smelling, touching, looking and being inspired will be enjoyed to the fullest again.
