Bill Barrett's bronze forms range from the muscular to the refined, possessive of a sensuous, Zen-like strength in their fluidity and overarching elegance-encouraging examination of formal relationships and drawing comparisons to an exuberant line drawing made joyfully multi-dimensional. In this way, Barrett's compositions transcend the starker aesthetics of minimalism with a warmth and humanity for which he has long been beloved. Barrett's abstract paintings make a remarkable counterpart to his sculptures, marvelously echoing their graceful, organic vigor.
