Moved to Paris, where his brother Andre (Robert Capa) was working as a photojournalist
1937
Moved to New York to join the new Pix photo agency
1938
Began working in the Life darkroom
1946
After serving in the US Air Force, became a Life staff photographer
1954
Joined Magnum Photos after his brother's death
1956 - 1960
became a president of Magnum
1974
Founded the International Center of Photography, New York, NY
1975
Received a Honor Award from the American Society of Magazine Photographers
1986
Was awarded Leica Medal of Excellence
