Marianne Boesky Gallery will present a solo booth of Donald Moffett’s Fleisch series for the 2020 edition of The Art Show in New York. The Fleisch  series bridges the overt political activism of Moffett’s earliest work  and the textural abstraction of his recent paintings. Time is spanned in  more ways than one, for the new Fleisch works are, in most  cases, also old ones—canvases with hand-sewn holes and zips from 2007  that have been otherwise left unfinished now have painted elements  conceived in 2019–20. The resulting compositions are provocative and  poetic, serving as an implicit form of social critique of the body  politic.
