Joseph Gott was born in 1785 and died in Rome, Italy August of 1860. Gott was part of the prestigious "Royal Academy" during 1820 to 1848. Joseph Gott was apprenticed to John Flaxman, London's preeminent neoclassical sculptor, and lived for much of his life in Rome. Gott is famous and well noted for his magnificent sculptures of children, dogs and figures. This master sculptor is represented in various museums throughout Europe and the United States.
