Jocund (diptych), 2015
The artists in this show explore the possibilities of hard-edge abstraction, colour field, and gestural abstraction in paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Melissa Meyer's monumental, gestural diptych Jocund contrasts the defined geometric shapes of Burgoyne Diller's mid-century drawings and William Perehudoff's exceptional AC-91-011. While the Meyer and Perehudoff engulf the viewer in space and colour, the Dillers invite up-close viewing.
