“Good art makes my heart sing.” Carlyn Moulton

It began as a passion project. Twenty years ago, when Carlyn Moulton and her partner Barbara Basille opened a small gallery in their waterfront home in Prince Edward County, they couldn’t have imagined what the future would bring. As their reputation for attracting fine contemporary Canadian artists grew, art lovers and collectors came in the thousands. Finally, in need of a bigger space, Carlyn approached Huff Estates Winery in PEC. It was a natural collaboration.

In 2009, they opened a light-filled modern building, the new home for Oeno (pronounced ‘e-no’) Gallery.

Since that day Oeno has garnered an international reputation for showcasing fine art by Canadian artists. The gallery has also developed a secondary market for important historical works—A. Y. Jackson, Lawren Harris, Tom Thompson and Maud Lewis among them. Behind the gallery a large sculpture garden is filled with unique artworks set amidst winding paths surrounded by roses and lavender. A robust online presence allows collectors in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America to buy Canadian art. Today, more than half of the gallery’s sales are exported —paintings, ceramics and sculptures by Canadian artists are being shipped to collectors all over the world.

In celebration of Oeno’s twentieth anniversary, this curated exhibition presents a fresh,  original and remarkably diverse collection of work by the talented gallery artists: paintings, clay and glass works, and sculpture—an astonishing, eclectic array of beautiful and thought-provoking work.
