Timeline

1947 - 1949
After being accepted at the Slade School of Art, he entered the army to do two years of National Service, the last nineteen months were spent in Egypt
1949 - 1953
Studied at the Slade School of Art where he was taught by William Coldstream
1963 - 1966
Taught at the Slade School of Fine Art

Took lessons on Saturdays in oil painting at Norwich Art School

Second prize in the Slade Summer Competition

Awarded the Scholarship for painting to the British School, Rome
