Born in Morciano di Romagno, Italy on June 23
1945 - 1948
Following the war, he receives his diploma as a builder and surveyor and enrolls at the Business School of the University of Bologna. He is employed by the Presaro Department of civil engineering as a consultant for the reconstruction of public buildings until 1957.
1949 - 1951
Attends Pesaro’s Art Institute studying set design
1952 - 1953
Begins designing stage sets and costumes. Begins working as a goldsmith creating jewelry
1954
Moves to Milan. First sculpture exhibition with his brother Gió
1956 - 1959
First visits Paris and the United States
1966 - 1968
Artist in residence at Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA, and visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley, CA
1980
Upon invitation of Mills College, Oakland, CA, resumes teaching until 1984
1982
Resumes working on set designs and costumes for the theater, with “spectacular machines” in major Italian productions
1983 - 2000
Continues exhibiting work internationally.
